Garrett Lillis, CPL

Founder & Managing Member

Garrett founded Petroso Land Services in 2016 with a vision of building a boutique land services firm where technical excellence, responsiveness, and trusted relationships come first.

With more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Garrett brings a unique perspective to every client engagement. Before founding Petroso full-time, he spent five years working land projects throughout Texas and Colorado, developing firsthand experience in lease acquisition, title research, and project execution. He later served as Vice President of Land for Emerald Oil & Gas, overseeing land operations in the Bakken, followed by Vice President of Land for Black Mountain Oil & Gas in Fort Worth.

Having served as both an in-house land executive and a land services provider, Garrett understands the priorities, timelines, and expectations operators face. That perspective enables him to anticipate challenges, communicate proactively, and deliver practical solutions that keep projects moving forward while protecting his clients' interests.

As Founder & Managing Member, Garrett remains personally involved throughout every project, working alongside Petroso's team to ensure clients receive responsive communication, strategic guidance, and the dependable execution that has become the foundation of Petroso's reputation.

Before joining Petroso Land Services, Joey spent more than 13 years with Percheron, LLC, where he served as a Project Manager and Lease Acquisition Lead on projects throughout Texas.

Senior Title Supervisor

Troy Strauss serves as Title Supervisor for Petroso Land Services, bringing more than 20 years of experience in mineral title research, ownership analysis, and complex oil and gas title projects. He oversees Petroso's title review process, ensuring every runsheet and mineral title package meets the highest standards of accuracy before submission to legal counsel.

Before joining Petroso Land Services, Troy spent more than 13 years with Percheron, LLC, where he specialized in complex Held-by-Production (HBP) title analysis, sovereignty runsheets, working interest ownership, and mineral title research across a wide range of exploration and production projects.

Clients rely on Troy's technical expertise, attention to detail, and quality control oversight to minimize risk and provide confidence that critical title work has been thoroughly reviewed. His commitment to accuracy and consistency plays an important role in delivering the dependable results Petroso is known for.

Senior Landman

Shane Barnett brings more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in lease acquisition, mineral title, drilling support, and complex land operations. At Petroso Land Services, he manages leasing programs, oversees negotiations, and coordinates closely with clients, title attorneys, and field teams to keep projects on schedule and ready for drilling.

Before joining Petroso in 2021, Shane served as Senior Landman for MD America Energy, where he managed the land requirements for an active eight-rig drilling program throughout Central Texas. His experience spans lease acquisition, title curative, due diligence, right-of-way negotiations, broker management, and surface operations, giving him a comprehensive understanding of every phase of land development.

Clients value Shane's practical problem-solving, responsiveness, and ability to manage complex projects while balancing aggressive drilling schedules. His collaborative approach and extensive field experience help clients move projects efficiently from planning through execution.
